Avant-Garde Events and Productions is a family owned business. As Colorado Natives we have a deep network of high-quality vendors, bar staff, and event staff. Our services include bartending staff, general event staff, event production, business consulting, venue development and operational management. Tim Taylor / Co-Owner / Avant-Garde Events & Productions

Tim Taylor is an industry expert with over 30 years of experience in food and beverage, event planning, and venue development. Most recently he was part of the senior leadership team that planned and executed the re-development of the McNichols building as a cultural arts and event venue. In his tenure at The McNichols Civic Center Building he developed event venue business goals, worked with the design team to redevelop an open space with friendly event space amenities. Additionally, he planned events at the McNichol’s building and surrounding Civic Center park area successfully executing operations for over 1500 events.

Tim values relationships and has extensive networks that extend to city agencies, non-profits and for-profit stakeholders. Tim volunteers his time by sitting on multiple event advisory boards, where he is an outspoken advocate for generating new business opportunities and striving for continual improvements regarding City policy and increasing costs for event organizers and the industry within Colorado.

Maria Lopez, MBA focus is on Business Development, Strategy and organizational process development. In her career she has successfully co-written 48 million dollars in public health grants for the Denver Metro Area. She has developed business and strategic plans with Senior Management and Boards of Directors for; Fund Raising, Service Delivery Systems, and non-profits (Sustainability, Marketing, and organizational Evaluation and Monitoring).

During her career in community planning and community engagement she convened over 1,200 meetings, conferences and community events. As the Director of Community Planning for HIV service delivery systems at local and state government, she was privileged to work and learn from very diverse populations. Community planning and engagement provided her with a deep understanding of diversity. She is committed to equity, tolerance, and justice. Her extensive experience working with diverse populations enables her to bring a unique understanding to the events we are part of and how they can serve to enhance the community we live, work, and play in.

Maria volunteers her time by sitting on non-profit boards, mentoring, coaching, guest speaking and teaching youth at a local Career Education Center at Denver Public Schools.
